Registered Office Address Services

Legal Address

What is a Registered Office Address ?

It is your business address in the UK where statutory notices from UK authorities such as Companies House and HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) are delivered.  It is also the address to which your trading and business counterparties may send legal notices.  If you use TBCCI for your Registered Office Address, your personal details such as your home address may be kept private and confidential.

Is Registered Office Address a legal requirement?

Yes, by law all businesses must provide Companies House with a Registered Office Address if they are incorporated as a company or LLP in the UK. This is a legal requirement for the delivery of statutory mail and legal notices, as well as for the retention of the Company’s statutory registers. You must notify Companies House if you want to change your company’s registered office address.

What constitutes statutory mail and legal notice?

Mail from Companies House, HMRC, Government Gateway, Department for Work & Pensions (DWP), Office for National Statistics, Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), and Court documents.

Is your business from overseas?

If your business is from overseas and is establishing a branch or liaison office is in the UK, you will require an address in the UK for service of statutory mail and legal notices.  However, certain technical formalities need to be complied with and you are advised to seek legal advice before registering at Companies House.  We do not offer this service but can direct you to a firm of lawyers or accountants who would be happy to help.
