The Turkish British Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Essex Chambers of Commerce are very pleased to offer a new custom made Health & Safety Online Training for employees of TBCCI member and non-member companies in the UK and Turkey.
Providing health and safety training sends a clear message to your workforce that you are concerned about their wellbeing, and that they work in a safe work environment. Also, together with Risk Assessments, Health & Safety training is required to avoid claims regarding breach of relevant regulations.

Essex Chambers of
Commerce and the TBCCI
welcome you to the
Health & Safety Seminar
on
Wednesday, 30 April 2008
on the occasion of the launch of the TBCCI Basic Health and Safety Online Training Course in Turkish and English languages. For information and registration, click here |
Online Health and Safety Training is easy to deliver via the internet as very little organisation and resources are required. The direct costs of at-office training like room hire and other associated costs are avoided. The purchase and running costs of the online course are kept to very reasonable levels.
- The set up process of the employee details is carried out for you. You provide us with a list of your employees’ names and we pre-populate the system with the names, User ID, and Passwords and email you access details for each and every employee.
- The package comes complete with its own management system called SMART, which automatically collects the training records for you. Managers are able to log on to check the progress of individual employees. Printed reports are available form the system.
- Once purchased, the course can be used year after year to provide annual refresher training (which is a requirement of UK legislation and considered good practice in other countries). The annual support fee ensures the course is maintained and accessible.
- The annual support fee ensures that courses purchased are automatically upgraded with updates and enhancements as the course content develops with changes in legislation and good practice.
- The course has features that make relevance to the UK and other countries.
- This training is aimed at Employee level.
- Although the course is not intended to provide specifically Health & Safety Management training (i.e. Accident Management, Control of Contractors, Specialist Construction, Risk Assessment etc), it provides the basic principals of health & safety suitable in many areas, which could help to keep employees safer day to day.
- Specific training in Accident Management, Control of Contractors or Risk Assessment is also available through our partnership with the accredited Essex Chambers of commerce. Please contact us at info@tbcci.org.
The Basic Health & Safety Introduction course covers the essential subjects below:
- Fire Safety
- Manual Handling
- Safety Signs & Basic Safety

- In addition to the benefits of the course summarised in the preceding sections on 'Why Online Training?' and 'Target Audience',
- The system trains employees, and tests their knowledge retention using a test.
- A certificate is produced upon completion of the course, which is signed by a NEBOSH qualified person, Karen Hoskins. (Karen Hoskins is the Health and Safety Manager for Essex Chambers of Commerce, a licensed Auditor with qualifications in IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH National General Certificate and NEBOSH Diploma pt1.)
Click here for a short biography of Karen Hoskins.
Note: NEBOSH is the UK National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health, the independent examining board and qualification awarding body.
- Employees trained in health and safety basic principals are less likely to have accidents at work and therefore less likely to be off sick.
- Providing health and safety training sends a clear message to your workforce that you are concerned about their wellbeing, and that their continued presence in your workforce is valued.
- Together with Risk Assessments, Health and Safety training is required to avoid claims regarding breach of related regulations.
The course is managed by the SMART system (System for Management, Administration and Reporting of Training), which is an online simple tool allowing the managers to view at a glance which of your users has worked through some or all of the training.
The SMART system collects user training records live from the on-line training course, provides reports on user progress and allows self administration of the System.
The SMART system is included in the course price.

Package Cost:
For Tbcci members: £200 is the minimum package cost.
For Non-Tbcci members: £250 is the minimum package cost.
You can purchase at any bracket that suits the number of your employees that you wish to provide online training.
Licences additional to your purchased package:
If you wish to add new employees over the maximum number in your initially purchased package, the amounts shown in the ‘Upgrade to a higher bracket’ line of the next higher bracket would apply per new employee. See below examples of price calculation.
SMART Management system:
Included in the licence fee
Annual Technical Support:
An annual technical support fee of 25% of the on-line training licence fee is charged annually for every year that access to the course is required.
Examples of Price Calculation: (Exclusive of VAT)
Example-1: A TBCCI member company with users between 25 and 100
(a) The member company would pay £500 as a license purchase fee. For the purpose of annual support fee calculation, that comes out as £500/100 (max no. of users in this group) = £5 per person. For each active license, an annual support charge of 25% of this £5 is applicable: £1.25. If, for example, there are 30 users (licences), the annual support charge is 30 x 1.25 = £37.50. The total chargable amount in this case would be 500.00 + 37.50 = £537.50
(b) If three new licences are required over the maximum number (100) allowed in this package, the additional payment for the upgrade to the next Higher Bracket is 3 x £5 = £15 plus an annual support charge of 25% on this amount is applied: £3.7). Total additional payment: £15 plus £3.75: £18.75
SMART Management system is included in these prices.
Example-2: A company, not a member of the TBCCI, with users less than 11
(a)The non-member company would pay £250 as a license purchase fee. For the purpose of annual support fee calculation, that comes out as £250/10 (max no. of users in this group) = £25 per person. For each active license, an annual support charge of 25% of this £25 is applied (£6.25). If, for example, there are four active users (licences), the annual support charge is 4 x 6.25 = £25.00. The total chargable amount in this case would be 250.00 + 25.00 = £275.00.
(b)If two new licences are required over the maximum number (10) in this package, the additional payment for the upgrade to the next Higher Bracket is 2 x £25 = £50 plus an annual support charge of 25% on this amount is applied (£12.50). Total additional payment: £50 plus £12.50 = £62.50
SMART Management system is included in these prices.
To register the course, contact us at healthandsafety@tbcci.org; we will forward you step by step information to complete your registration. After the initial purchase confirmation, clients should email a list of users' details to healthandsafety@tbcci.org to allow the generation of User ID and Password access details (which will be emailed back to you). For each user, you should provide us First Name, Surname, Location, Department Telephone, Email and Manager's email.
