Mr. Ismail Çikçi, Managing Director of NanoBoron Ltd gave an interview to the TBCCI discussing the scope and the benefits of the application of BORPower™ products, which aim to reduce friction and abrasion in working mechanical systems and lower maintenance costs.

EAST MIDLANDS MARKET VISIT TO TURKEY
The TBCCI gave a presentation on 10 September at Derby to a delegation of East Midlands businessmen who will be making a trade mission to Istanbul and Ankara in October this year. The market visit aims to increase business with and investments in Turkey and is lead by UK Trade & Invest. The trade delegation include representatives from oil and gas, security printing, precision industrial blades, fashion accessories, label and sign printing, industrial gas turbines, music band PA systems, and heat seal and weighing machinery sectors. The presentation given by TBCCI covered the legal and marketing aspects of "Doing Business in Turkey", investment opportunities and business customs in Turkey.

TURKISH AIRLINES DIRECT FLIGHTS FROM BIRMINGHAM
Turkish Airlines has announced new scheduled flights from Birmingham to Istanbul. The five weekly direct non-stop Birmingham - Istanbul return flights will commence on 15 December 2008, operating Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. For time table and fare details, click here.
According to figures given by the Association of European Airlines, Turkish Airtimes has become the 7th largest airline in Europe, outpacing Italy's Alitalia in numbers of passengers carried. Germany's Lufthansa tanked first, Air France was second and British Airways third.

In July 2008, export – import volume between the two countries grew by 9.7%.
In the January-July seven months period, the cumulative increase became 13.3%.

NUMBER OF VISITORS FROM THE UK TO TURKEY [ January-July 2008 ]
In the January-July seven months period this year, the number of visitors from the UK to Turkey reached 1,143,004; an increase of 15% compared to the same period last year.
