TURKEY WINS SEAT ON THE UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL
Turkey has won a seat on the UN Security Council. Turkey, obtaining the required two thirds majority votes in the 1st round and will serve a two-year term beginning 1 January 2009. For details of this news in English and Turkish, click here.

THE EUROPEAN BANK FOR RECONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPMENT (EBRD) RECOMMENDS INVESTING IN TURKEY

UK-TURKEY TRADE DATA FOR JANUARY-AUGUST 2008/07
In August 2008, export – import trade between the two countries declined by 2.2%.
In the January-August eight months period, the cumulative increase became 11.4%.
