NEW TBCCI AND THINK LONDON SERVICE
FOR TURKISH COMPANIES TO SET UP BUSINESSES IN LONDON

NEW COOPERATION BETWEEN
THE TBCCI AND BRITISH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN TURKEY (BCCT) The British Chamber of Commerce in Turkey (BCCT) and the TBCCI agreed to cooperate further to support trade relations between the two countries by offering more services to businesses in the UK and Turkey by promoting closer cooperation and development of the relationship between the BCCT and TBCCI. The cooperation will feature investment promotion, facilitation of trade, greater exchange of information and support of small and medium sized businesses (SMEs) to work together. The two chambers will plan a “Doing business with the UK” panel-seminar in Istanbul in the last week of September 2009.

UK TURKEY EXPORT IMPORT TRADE
In March 2009:
Turkey exports to UK: The rate of decline of Turkey exports to UK in 2009 slowed down in March to 38.5%, which was 53.5% in January and 54.5% in February. UK exports to Turkey decreased by 59.4% in 2009 January, 57.9% in February and by 54.3% in March 2009. In March, total exports and imports between UK and Turkey was down by 45.6%.
In the first quarter of 2009, in the cumulative Jan-Feb-Mar period this year; the UK Turkey exports to Turkey declined by 57.0%. In the same period, the slow down in Turkey exports to UK was 49.0% and total UK Turkey trade was down by 52.4% over the same period previous year.
