TBCCI ANNUAL BALL, 18 MAY 2007
The Turkish British Chamber of Commerce and Industry celebrated its 27th anniversary at its Annual Ball on Friday, 18 May 2007, London.

RT Hon Hazel Blears MP, Chair of the Labour Party and Minister at the Cabinet Office, Mr Ali Babacan, Minister of State and the Chief Negotiator of Turkey for the EU, and Mr Rifat Hisarciklioglu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey were the guest speakers at the Ball. They pointed out that strong and continual progress had been achieved in the trade, political and social relations between Turkey and the UK in the recent years.

Mr Remzi Gur, the Chairman of the TBCCI, said that the Chamber was celebrating its 27th anniversary of service to the bilateral trade between the UK and Turkey in a social setting at an enjoyable evening, which was aimed to contribute further the contact between the Turkish-British business community in Britain ad politicians and officials of the two countries.

Türkiye Is Bankasi A.S. London has now made available an offer of a special loan facility to the members of the TBCCI. In the Small Business Loan Facility, IsBank will, depending on the credit assessment of the applicants, offer a financing between £ 10,000 and £ 124,000 where the yearly interest varies between 9.25% and 10,95%. Maximum term of the Loan is 5 years and the repayments are in monthly equal instalments.

Business Referrals and Business Partner search
To broaden business referrals and company matching for Chamber members, all partnership or trade enquiries made to the Chamber by members or non-members will be made available to members from the Members Zone of the TBCCI website. Members can login to the Members Zone, select ’Business Partnerships’ under ‘Trade Services’, and view all the advertised partnerships or search for a particular business partnership. All such enquiries or offers will also be posted to Chamber members by email every month.

Partnership enquiries or offers made by TBCCI members will automatically be posted on the public pages of the website to be viewed by non-members as well.

Trade Statistics
A new web feature, Trade Statistics, has been added to the Chamber website to provide statistical information on UK Turkey Trade. To view the monthly/yearly UK-Turkey export import statistics or their breakdown by product categories and products, click here.

UK-TURKEY TRADE
The increase in the trade volume between the UK and Turkey continued with 17.3% in April this year. In the cumulative January-April period, the increase was 13.9%.
