Minister Ali Babacan attends TBCCI Annual Dinner Dance
TBCCI celebrated its 26 th anniversary this year on 19 May which happily coincided with the Youth Day Festival in Turkey . The venue this year was the Royal Garden Hotel Kensington, who did their utmost to give the guests the best service possible.

The guest of honour was State Minister Mr. Ali Babacan. In his speech, the Minister said that Turkish people had finally attained a state of political and social stability and would not tolerate anybody or any group to take that away from them. He reiterated the fact that Turkey was a secular country. He then explained how easy it had become for non-Turks to start a company there and how they had exactly the same rights and advantages as Turkish companies. He expressed his pleasure about the increasing foreign investment in Turkey and thanked the UK government for being a constant supporter of Turkey 's cause in joining the European Union. |
Also among the guests was HMA Mr. Nicolas Baird the new British Ambassador to Ankara , Mrs Baird, Minister Counsellor Mr. Atilay Ersan and Mrs. Seza Ersan, Consul General Mr. Bahadir Kaleli and Mrs. Serra Kaleli. The members and guests dined and danced the night away until early hours of the morning. (Click here for photos)
Welcome Reception for the Turkish Consul General
The TBCCI welcomed the Turkish Consul General Mr. Bahadir Kaleli with a reception at Bury House. The very-well attended reception was further enhanced by the attendance of the Turkish Embassy staff and six MP's from Turkey . A presentation was made by a new member of the Chamber, BMED British Mediterranean Airlines , who launched direct flights between Ankara and London on 26 March.
Privilege Card Launched
The TBCCI has a brand new service for its members this year. The PRIVILEGE CARD, which every member of the Chamber will receive, will give him the opportunity to make use of fellow members' products and services at discounted rates. The participating companies can be seen from the link. Any member should contact the TBCCI office if they have a service or product, which they wish to offer to the members. This service will be launched with a cocktail reception at Bury House between 6:30 pm-8:30 pm on Wednesday 21 June. The new member presentation at the launch will be made by David son Morris Solicitors, who are sponsors of the evening. They have 11 years of experience in the field of immigration law and will provide the members with valuable information and advice regarding their immigration concerns. Standard & Poor's Turkey Ratings
Standard & Poors, provider of independent world credit ratings, announced last month that Turkey has made significant progress on structural reform over the past three years, aided by a financial support program from the IMF, improving domestic and international confidence in the Turkish economy, and an increasingly supportive regulatory framework.
